This pool is from my childhood.. I spent many summers here with my family. This diving board is the first diving board I ever jumped off.. probably not THE same board.. surely it has been long since replaced. On this day, the pool was empty except for the floaty. Not a person in sight. Towels were strewn on the fence and chairs were folded and stacked. Standing on the edge of the pool, I can hear the echoes of laughter, screams and splashing.. all the noises that made up the soundtrack of my summers spent here. I stand on the spot where my Dad taught me how to dive and remember his impatience with me.. I just couldn't fall forward.. always jumping in at the last second.. In this pool, I sat tall on my brothers shoulders and chicken fought with my sister and cousins.. played marco polo.. rescued lady bugs.. had tea parties in the shallow end underwater.. the summer was always long and slow.. spread out ahead of us.

I like this, your reminiscence brings me back to my childhood swimming memories. Where is this pool?
Its up at Cobb Mountain. Resort called Pine Grove. Its being sold now, so who knows whats going to happen to it.. You'd love it. Really funky cabins.. dirt roads..no internet.. bingo at night.
For a minute, that raft looked like a plastic shark. I love a picture with multiple meanings.
Great shot.
