me me me me

So my obsession with layers is continuing.. I usually hate pics of myself with one or two exceptions--one being that I take it and the other being that I get to mess with it and purty it up before anyone sees it! This is actually two photos, one of a graffiti wall and another of me in the hammock. Let me know what you think!

Buster and Adam

Adam just loves his puppy. They are inseparable. As much as I feel sorry for Buster sometimes as Adam is hugging him to death, it is nice that they have each other and will grow up together.

Wood on Wood

Hope you all had a great spring break! I am experimenting with photoshop, adding textures to photos that I have taken. This is new to me so I might go off on a tangent for the next few weeks :) Bear with me please. This was taken at the flea market last year. I came across it as I was going through my photos looking for something to practice on. The bottom layer is of wood which I think fits together pretty well with the photo. As a kid, I had a thing for dolls.. they really freaked me out... not so much now.. how about you??

The death of Mickey??

Went to the Alameda Flea market yesterday where there is way too much to see. It seemed like my whole childhood was there for sale.. this struck me as a funny way to display a beloved icon.

Two flowers, one shadow...

This photo was taken at the deYoung museum last week. There was a flower arrangement exhibit and ladies wearing big hats, fun stuff! This caught my eye.

cousins

I had the opportunity to create some photos for an anniversary party over the weekend. These are the grandchildren of the celebratees (!) and the challenge was to get them all in one spot, take the photos, print them and have them back (the same day) so that the photos could be put up collage style before the party started. Needless to say, I am thankful that Walgreens has 1 hour photo and do such a great job! You might recognize Ms. Orion from a few weeks back.. I love how she is looking down at her toes. So cute!

cowboy in training

I guess it would have been more in tune with the upcoming holiday to have something more green-- more irish-y, but as my way, I am not much of a planner when it comes to art. It is what it is and what this is is my 4 year old son playing with toy guns all for the sake of this photo shoot. I have never allowed my other older boys to play with anything that even resembled a weapon, but my viewpoint has changed over the years and I have lapsed with this rule, much to my other boys dismay. Adam had no problem picking up the weapons and going "bad guy" on me. He shot me ruthlessly and then locked me up in the pokey.. (Don't worry, I escaped and disarmed him--the guns are hidden away until next time)..
